Swiss National Bank stressed need for loose policy – government – Reuters

ZURICH, Oct 27 (Reuters) – The Swiss National Bank stressed the need to maintain an expansive monetary policy at the central bank leadership’s annual meeting with the Swiss government on Wednesday, the government said.

“The SNB emphasised that against the backdrop of the highly valued franc, the still underutilised macroeconomic production capacities and the moderate inflation forecasts for the medium term, its expansionary monetary policy remains necessary. This will enable the SNB to ensure price stability in Switzerland and further support the recovery of the Swiss economy from the consequences of the Corona pandemic,” a government statement said.
